Brief synopsis:
Farm three keys, then clear Fomor hate. Return to Sacrarium and battle a ghost for a key item, then get a cutscene and leave.

If you hated the Aqueducts, you’ll hate the Sacrarium. Heck, if you loved the Aqueducts, there is a good chance you’ll hate the Sacrarium. It’s full of skeletons, ghosts, fomors, and taurs. It also requires you to leave and come back.

Sacrarium is accessed by an Iron Gate in the northern part of Misareaux Coast, near this nice waterfall. The mobs in this part of Misareaux will aggro 50s so sneak up if you’re low level.

The Iron Gate is at the very north part. Until previously this gate has been locked, but now that we need to go here it will of course open up.

Farming Keys:

First things first. There are taurs in the first corridors. I didn’t put Holy Water on the med list because you should be used to fighting them backwards by now. There are only a few and you might be able to run behind them. After the taurs you come to a maze of walls and undead. This maze changes every game day (litearlly, if you're in it when the clock rolls over some walls go up and others go down) and is substantially large. Sneak will probably wear while you’re in here. There are no magic aggro mobs (save the random elemental) so you can use the spell if need be. Don’t die in here. Seriously. There are no safe spots to raise like in the Aqueducts library, and the skeletons can blood aggro right through walls at incredible distance. This is part of the mission that you should seriously pay attention to.

There are actually taurs in several parts of the Sacrarium, but most importantly in the maze. The tarus are in dead-end corridors, one north of the maze, the other to the south. Take a peek down any suspicious tunnels before crossing over. Remember the taurs are sight aggro so that you can just walk by them if they're not facing your way.

The Koolaid linkshell has a great map of the possible configuations of the maze. I'm pretty sure some of the days are mislabeled, but with a compass and a decent sense of direction you can figure out which of the four mazes you're in and go from there. The "cut off" tunnels at the middle top and bottom are the ones with the taurs. If your path passes those tunnels, make sure the taur isn't looking your way before darting across.

My party encountered this Corse NM thing in the maze. Apparently it only shows up on dark weather. Our RNG got too close and got killed, and we joined him. It was not pleasant getting people back up because they had to move to avoid blood aggro, and sometimes there was literally nowhere to go so they died again. Do yourself a favor and don’t die in this part. Your RNG with widescan can try to lead you in the direction of the fomors at the end of the maze.

After getting through the maze you run into said fomors. Lots of them. Keep going past the fomors until you find a dead end to back yourself up again, then pull them one at a time. They drop the Coral Crest Keys (RARE, EX) you need. Get two, and give them to two different people. The fomors also drop subligars on rare occasion, and balloon cloth too. Nice.

There are two taurs right out in the open in the fomor area of Sacrarium at the crossroad points. They're totally obvious so you don't need to be paranoid about them sneaking up on you. They're hard mobs, and of course going below 75% HP will attract an angry swarm of fomors to you. Try not to aggro them. Again, wait until these taurs are facing some other way, and run behind them. You can even physically "step on their tail" and it won't get you aggro so as long as you don't get seen by the taur's front.

Keremet, a Corse NM, has the 2nd key you need.. There are two hallways, each lined with 6 NM skeletons. The skeletons don't aggro and are terribly weak, but if anyone attacks Keremit they will rush to aid him. So have your party mow down all 12 skeletons. A monk could likely handle 6 on his own. Then pass through one of the doors at the end of the hall.

Keremet is at the far side of a largish room. 3 or 4 tarus patrol the room. Wait for them to all wander to one side, then pull Keremet back through one of the doors into one of the hallways where the skeletons were. Keremet has magic so keep him silenced. He can also charm, so be prepared to sleep the tank and bind/sleep Keremet until the charm wears off. Keremet is not very strong but you might find yourself needed a med or two to keep things healthy and avoid deaths. He will drop the Sealion Crest Key (RARE, EX). Give it to someone who doesn’t have either of the the Coral Coral ones.

Murder!

At this point, escape out. Now you have to romp through Misareaux Coast or Lufaise Meadows killing Orcs, Orcish Warmachines, and Giants. Kill these beastmen to remove fomor hate. Each kill counts for every party member in the zone, so in theory one person could do all the fighting while the others go AFK. But that would take forever, so spread out and mow 'em down. My party killed for about an hour. After you’re done, check the guy inside the safehold who babbles about dark spirits. If he says you have a “good head start” then you will not get fomors to aggro unless you hit them or something. This isn’t optional. Do it. See the Tavnazian Safehold guide for full details of Fomor hate and how to understand this rambling old man.

Crazy Old Professor Mariselle

Back into Sacrarium. Pass through the undead maze until you get to the fomors. You won’t need sneak. It’s creepy running around fomors without sneak, but it works. You’ll come to a door with two keyholes: one large, one small. Trade the Coral Crest key to the small hole and hear a click, then trade the Sealion Crest to the large hole and the door opens. Your Sealon Crest Key is kept, but your Coral Crest Key breaks, alas. Good thing you farmed two. Pass a bunch more fomors until you come to a Wooden Gate. Cutscene.

Backtrack out the locked door. There are six classrooms, three on the north side of area of Sacrarium you're in and three on the south. Each has a ??? in it that can spawn the Ghost NM you need for a key item. Buff up, get ready, and check the ???. If it’s a dud, move on to the next. You won’t need sneak. Eventually you’ll find the right one and it will spawn my arch nemesis, Old Professor Mariselle, and his two Mariselle’s Pupils!

A pretty cool exp quest involves ??? spots that appear on the bookcases. This isn't what you're looking for. The ???s for the professor are on the desks in the center back of the room.

This is not a BC, but it can be long so you’ll probably need meds. The Prof uses Sleepga a lot (he opened with it for us) so use your poisons. He teleports around randomly, and can silence, and generally uses ghost moves like etcosmash. I don’t know why, but I found this battle very amusing, and was laughing watching my party members flounder around trying to fight this silly ghost.

Keep in mind that all the classrooms are full of fomors which is why you removed the fomor hate. Don’t use AoE either. Fomor hate or not, they’ll cut you down you blast them.

The pupils have weak attacks and if you kill them he summons more anyway so just forget about them. You can try to sleep them if you have a bard. As per typical, I was generating a lot of hate on them from my cure spells, so I ended up tanking them for most of the battle. It was annoying, but I managed.

Because he teleports around and the pupils cause chaos, you’ll need your medicines to outlast him. Be ready for a 10-minute fight. Once you kill the silly old prof, check the ??? again for the key item you need. Then proceed back to the locked door. Open it with your second Coral Crest Key and Sealion Crest Key, then back to the Wooden Gate to end the mission.

The statue in the room you end up in is a definite photo opportunity. Who wouldn’t want a picture with the big evil? But once you’re done, you can go ahead and escape.

Cheating the System:

If you can convince someone who has beaten the mission to come along with you, you can leave them behind the locked gate once you open it the first time and only farm one Coral Crest Key. If they also have a Sealion Crest Key (it never breaks) then you don’t need that either.
