Brief synopsis:
A BC fight against 4 weak moblins and a bugbear

The other two hogged most of the hard stuff, so the elvaan is left with lots of cutscenes and silly moblins. Still, the BC can still kill you like anything else if you’re not prepared. This part is 60 cap. Bring your usual meds and a fair amount of gil.

5-3A2 - Partners Without Fame

The ??? Warmachine is on Purgonorgo Isle. Take the manaclipper to the island when the attendant tells you that's where it's going. There are three possible routes so this might take some time.

5-3A3 - A Century of Hardship

Okay, now it's on! Get that level 60 cap gear and head out to North Gustaberg to enter Oldton Movapolis.

Moblin Gamblers

Other guides talk about lilies and tears and stuff. You don’t need any of that anymore to bypass Newton Movapolis. Zone into Oldton Movalpolis from the far entrance from North Gustaburg, not the one you escape out of. They are right near eachother, but you want the one is more to the east. Inside, a newish moblin will offer to play a game with you. Give him up to 10k, and he rolls dice. If you win, you get an ENM item plus teleportation privileges. The more you pay, the better your odds. I’ve heard people that pay 1k and win, and others that pay 10k 8 times and still lose. It’s luck. Cough up the gil until you win. Then pay the moblin an additional 2k and he’ll teleport you straight to Mine Shaft #2716 without mucking around with any of the other ways getting there. 

Note: the ENM is 60 cap, and you’re wearing 60 cap gear. Despite this, don’t try it. You’ll need to come back to Mine Shaft #2716 with a Gold Key after you beat the BC, and if you try the ENM (no matter if you succeed or fail) you can’t try it again for five days. The moblin also won’t teleport you for five days. So if you do the ENM you won’t be able to get back, and you’ll have to muck around with tears, which means a trip to Jeuno. Just fight the ENM another time.



Many Moblins


The BC is against four moblins and one bugbear. The moblins are a WHM, BLM, RDM, and THF. The Bugbear can both counter and use mighty strikes, so he’s probably cheating somehow. My sources say they are immune to sleepga, so fan our and pick targets. Our RDM kited the bugbear until the end. In the meantime, the other moblins need to be taken care of. Kill the WHM, then BLM, then RDM, then THF. Or just kill them in any order you want.

Because they can't be slept, five of your six party members will be holding off a moblin. Your tank can possibly hold off two. A BLM should be left not tanking any of the moblins. Have your hardest-hitting DD tank the WHM so that, when it dies quickly, you will have two high-damage jobs available to assist others. Assist your healer next, then focus on cutting down the other two.


Once the moblins are dead, hopefully the kiter is doing okay. Help out your kiter with the bugbear. He’s stronger, but no match for your party even if you’re somewhat exhausted from battle.

Strategy tips:

This battle is actually a good practice for the Mammets you'll be fighting very soon. Tactics that work well here carry over to this first battle in mission 6-4.

After the battle, more cutscenes in the area. If you were unable to find a Gold Key in a bazaar somewhere, Goblin Fireman or Goblin Packman mobs in Newton Movapolis drop them. Just zone out from the Mine Shaft and the monsters should be in about that area. Once everyone has their keys, escape out and to Bastok.
