CoP Maps Guide

This is a page for all the map quests that I’ve completed for CoP areas. About half of them are here. Yeah, I know, it’s sort of sad, but I don’t put up anything detailed onto this page that I haven’t confirmed personally. Eventually I’ll get around to adding more map quests when I get around to obtaining more of my own maps.

I have no intention of putting up all the maps for CoP areas on this page. This place is a strategy guide, not an an atlas, and I'm not chewing up all my bandwidth hosting them. There is already a very good site for maps online so head over there if you’re looking for something pictorial to guide you through a certain area.

Tavnazian Safehold / Lufaise Meadows / Misareaux Coast
Obtained by: quest, Unforgiven, started at Elysia at (G-10) in the Tavnazian Safehold

This is a very easy map quest designed to get you familiarized with the Safehold. Elysia is standing in one of the tunnels that branch off from the main room. Talk with her to get a cutscene.

You’re now looking for a ??? spot. There are a bunch of these on the main level but they're for a different quest and aren't what we're looking for. Head back to the main room with the suspension bridge and go up the spiral ramp to the upper level. Explore the tunnels in this area until you find a large rock near a wooden door (this door opens). Behind the rock is the ??? spot. There's nothing there visually, it's just a random spot on the ground. It’s map position is (K-9) on the upper map. Check it for a key item.

Return to Elysia for a cutscene. Now you need to find Pradiulot. He’s nearby in the main room with the bridge. Circle around until you find him. Talk with him for a final cutscene and you’ll get your map. Yay!

Promyvion
Obtained by: trading a memosphere to ??? spots

Yeah, I don’t have any of these. Rumor has it that you get a colored memosphere EX item by killing either the unique monsters in each promyvion (rare drop) or the NMs (always drop at least one) and then trade it to a ??? spot somewhere to get the map. I haven’t done that though. Try it out if you want.

Phomiuna Aqueducts
Obtained by: random ??? spot

There is no map quest for Phomiuna Aqueducts. To obtain this map you simply check a ??? in one of the four libraries. There are several ???s that open up doors; those aren’t what you want. The map ??? respawns every 15 minutes. Getting into the libraries solo is basically impossible so you’ll either have to be lucky and get it on the mission or hang around afterward and dodge fomors until you find what you’re looking for.

Pso’Xja
Obtained by: treasure chest

Opening up a treasure chest in Pso’Xja will get you a map of the area. Keys drop fairly often (you may get one while farming chips for mission 3-5) but the biggest challenge is finding the chest. Or, rather, finding a treasure chest that won’t COME TO LIFE AND TRY TO EAT YOU! The only way to know is a chest is real or not before approaching is to use widescan. Real chests won’t appear on widescan; fake chests are enemies and thus will.

Open up a real treasure chest to receive your map.

Riverne – Site #A01 and #B01
Obtained by: quest, Go! Go! Gobmuffin, started at Epinolle at (F-8) in the Tavnazian Safehold

In order for this quest to become available you need to have zoned into Riverne – Site #B01 at least once. After doing so talk to Epinolle for a cutscene and the quest flag.

Head into Riverne – Site #B01 with at least four decently equipped people (a party or more makes this very easy). You need to head to a special island in this Riverne. You won’t need a dragon scale as there are no Unstable Displacements on the path. The gold dots on my color-coded Riverne – Site #B01 map lead to the island you need to go to.

AS SOON AS YOU PASS THROUGH THE DISPLACEMENT AT (K-7) THREE NM MOBLINS WILL ATTACK! So be ready and go together! The moblins are Chemical Cook Chemachiq (WHM), Browser Bokabrag (BLM) and Spell Spitter Spicospok (RDM). The RDM is difficult to sleep so sleep the other two and defeat the RDM first. Then knock out the WHM, and finally the BLM. Defeating all three gets you no drops or title or recognition of any kind, but don’t worry, you’re doing okay. However anyone that didn’t talk to Epinolle and get the quest flagged will have to do the fight again with it flagged in order to proceed on their map quest.

Return to Epinolle for the cutscene and map of both Riverne sites.

Sacrarium
Obtained by: quest, Paradise, Salvation, and Maps, started at Nivorajean at (I-9) on the upper map of the Tavnazian Safehold.

Various problems with this quest at the moment. Working on it.

Al’Taieu
Obtained by: speaking with all the Quasilumins in the area

This is actually kind of cool. You don’t have to farm a key or kill any monsters at all. Just wander around talking to these Quasilumin NPCs. Of course there a lot of them and Al’Taieu is sort of dangerous, but still, not an unpleasant map quest.

This map, borrowed and unmodified from FFXI atlas, shows all of their positions. When you talk to the last one again it will give you the map. Biggest problem with this quest is missing one or two when you think you talked to them all so you may have to run around a bit. Watch out for UFOs.

Grand
Palace
of Hu’Xzoi
Obtained by: speaking with all the Quasilumins in the area

Yep, more Quasilumins. On this mission some Quasilumins spawn and need to be escorted; these aren’t ones you need to speak to for the map quest. The map Quasilumins are stationary like in Al’Taieu.

I don’t have a cool guide for this one. Some of them are out of the way but it’s much easier to try to complete the map quest while doing the mission. If I ever track them all down I’ll put some sort of guide for them up

Garden of Ru’Hmet
Obtained by: speaking with all the Quasilumins in the area

You get the drill by now. There are 10 this time. Three on the main floor (one by sealed portal, one on in a room up a ramp to the east of starting position, one in the northwest corner of the main blocks of rooms), two on the second floor (one by the elevator, other by the brand of dawn), and one in each of the five towers. I don't have exact positions so I can't label a map for you. Maybe some time soon.

Bibiki Bay / Carpender’s Landing
Obtained by: bought

Both these maps can be bought from NPC map vendors. Carpender’s Landing is available in San d’Oria and Bibiki Bay can be found in Mhaura. Happy exping.

Ulgeruerand Range
Obtained by: quest, Over the Hills and Far Away, started by reading a diary at (G-7) in South San d’Oria.

This is a long and troublesome quest, but there is a very good description of it on Allakhazam and if I were to write up anything it would be basically just copying this text. Things to note about the Ulg Range: the “mob that sees through sneak and invisible” referenced there in this explination are the tarus I talk about in mission 2-3. Also in this area are Snoll enemies that look like blue bombs and aggro to both site and magic. And of course you have to watch out for the usual undead and massive huge HNM wyrms like Jormungand. You know, the usual. Other than that this quest explanation is very solid.

Attohwa Chasm
Obtained by: quest, One Good Deed?, started at Chipmy-Popmy at (C-8) of Port Windurst

Once again I defer to Allakhazam for this one. The six Peerifools NMs that spawn on the island can be slept. Other than that it’s mainly a quest running around inside Attohwa chasm. I recommend at least one person do this before mission 5-3 so you have someone who knows how to get to the Boneyard Gully battle zone.

Oldton Movapolis / Newton Movapolis
Obtained by: treasure chest / treasure coffer

These two zones have two different maps but both are obtained the same way: get a key and open a chest. Only the hard mobs in the far western parts of Oldton drop treasure keys but basically any beastman in Newton can drop a coffer key. A friend will be helpful in Newton to control a spinning gate so you can get in and out of areas to look for the coffer.
