Many players see Al'Taieu access as the one big reward in the CoP
missions, similar to how Ru'Ann Gardens access was the main reason
everyone does the Zilart storyline. The path to Sea is long and
somewhat frusterating, but there are numerous smaller rewards along the
way to encourage players and keep them going. I've tried to chronicle
the rewards on this page as best I can.
This page has inevitable
spoilers
about areas to visit and mosters you
fight. You are warned.
Access to New Areas
The CoP areas are more than just places for missions. Like
normal zones, they have quests, notorious monsters, and rare items to
farm. Each time you gain access to an area the quests you can do and
items
you can farm increase. ENMs based on that zone also become avaialble.
You can even form experience point parties in these "dungeon" zones. In
fact, you get double merit points if you defeat any enemy in a
level-capped zone!
The mission number signifies the minimum mission you must be on to be
allowed into the area, assuming you've done all the cutscenes as well.

If its not on there, then you don't need to complete any CoP
missions to get into it. So someone who has never stepped foot in
Promyvion can still get experience in Bibiki Bay, do the ENM in Oldton
Movapolis,
and die to Tiamat in Attowha Chasm.
Tangible Reward
As far as items you, you have to a long way into CoP to get
anything.

Tavnazian Safehold and all of its early quests are available to
you the moment you beat your last Promyvion. As you progress in
chapters, more quests become available. The Safehold gets hooked to
Jeuno's auction house after you beat mission 3-5.
The Ducal Guard's Ring has 5 charges and will teleport you directly to
the Archduke's palace in Ru'Lude Gardens.
The Tavnazian Ring will teleport you directly to the Tavnazian
Safehold. It only has one charge, but recharges itself every 24 real
hours.
The "CoP Ring" is obtained after beating the last mission and viewing a
great number of cutscenes. There are three possible rings: a mage ring,
a tank ring, and a melee ring. They are easily among the most powerful
rings in the game as they grow with your characters and offer very
useful bonuses directly related to your jobs. They can all be equipped
by any job at level 30, but are obviously designed with certain rolls
in mind. Despite your job you can pick any ring you want, but only one
of the three. You can't toss your ring and get another one later so
treat it well.

In case that isn't too clear, a level 50 character wearing
the Tamas Ring would have Enmity-3, MP+20, MND+3, INT+3. A level
75 with the same Tamas Ring would have Enmity-3, MP+30, MND+5, INT+5.
Get it? A good reward indeed.
Sadly, there is an obvious lack of a ring that enhances CHR. Perhaps
decisive proof that SE hates Bards and Beastmasters?
Titles
Many players enjoy having cool titles to
impress the people that check them in Jeuno. Because the CoP missions
are long and difficult, players wear their titles gained from CoP
missions as badges of pride just like any piece of equipment. Here is a
list of titles gained from the missions and enemies in the Chains of
Promathia campaign.
The mission signifies what mission the title is gained on. Usually the
title is gained at the end of the mission, but some cutscenes in the
middle give titles too.
